A survey on Citizen’s perception across Sierra Leone!

The SierraPoll findings on the Cybercrime bill, shows the implications for Civil liberties and citizen’s perception on the use of electronic application to fight COVID in Sierra Leone. The survey shows that most Sierra Leone would trust in an App for COVID tracking produced in Sierra Leone, and most who desire a law governing Social Media content.

Findings of this report which was released on 9th June 2021 at the New Brookfields Hotel majors on three main concepts of:

Safeguarding digital rights and responsibilities

Promoting digital citizenship

Preventing digital bullying/ digital terrorism

This gives a broader understanding to viewers about the essence of the the said discourse which has for a long affected ordinary citizens across the country and a check on the activities of the government to be accountable and transparent in providing security in the digital space.

However, the report assessed the level of awareness of Sierra Leonean on the new cybercrime Bill, whiles testing the willingness of Sierra Leoneans in using tech application in the fight against COVID, among others.
